TOMS giveaway

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, my cousin is doing yet another fabulous giveaway...a custom pair of TOMS. I would die to win this one! Check her out at

National Adoption Month and Good Things Utah

November is National Adoption month! Go adoption! So anyone associated with or in support of adoption was invited to be an audience member of Good Things Utah. I was able to go and represent LDS Family Services as an adoption caseworker and adoption advocate. At the end of the show they made an announcement about adoption, and acknowledged all of us in the audience. It was really fun to be at the show.

I was able to tour backstage...
and see the news desk they shoot from...
Here is our group of adoption peeps on set!

Me doing the weather haha I would be so bad at doing television. I know I would sound so awkward.

And I had to get a picture taken with the cast from Vampire Diaries. Oh I love Stefan (on the left). He is so cute. Too bad it was just a cardboard cutout!

It was a great experience to be at the show and to represent adoption in a positive way!

Riverwoods Lighting

Anthony and I live close to the Riverwoods, and they had their annual lighting ceremony this weekend so we went by to check it out. There was live music, giveaways, food, and Santa himself :) It was a lot of fun pushing Liam in his stroller and letting him look at all the lights. He is so observant and doesn't miss a thing. For the past 2 weeks there have been people stringing lights on all the trees, equipped with machines to lift them to the tippy tops. There must be tens of thousands of lights. The whole place sparkled!

Love this picture of them looking at each other.

All the shops at the Riverwoods each made a gingerbread house representing their store. Here are some of them:

Blickenstaff's toy store

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Victoria's Secret

Soel Boutique
Shoot's Chinese Restaurant

Subway. Really? Come on, you can do better than that!

Called To Surf clothing store

Argento jewelry store

Everyone cast their vote and a winner was choosen...I actually don't know who won, because we left early. Anthony of course voted for Victoria's Secret. He said he would have voted for it no matter how it looked haha I voted for Blickenstaff's. I hope no one voted for Subway!

A Trip to the Museum of Art

I went to the BYU Museum of Art this week. They have so many neat exhibits, and I love the environment there. It was nice to be back on campus--it's been nearly 4 years since I graduated from BYU. The MOA had several exhibits to look at, and the one that I thought was wonderful was by an artist named Adam Bateman. He focused his art on communication and language. My favorite piece of art was called "The Fourth Thousand Years." It is a giant book sculpture, made up of hundreds of thousands of books stacked together; a sculpture so heavy, the museum had to reinforce its floors for extra support. The local paper said, "With the help of museum assistants, building the 14-foot tall, 83,000-pound sculpture took about 600 hours. The books were carefully stacked and are held by gravity only; something Bateman said is only possible through following strict parameters of stacking and using plenty of experimentation and faith."

I didn't know you're not allowed to take pictures (oops!), but I did sneak a few before a museum employee told me not to.

If you live close by then you should definitely visit the museum and take a look at this exhibit. It ends on November 26. The pictures do not do it justice.

Slowly but surely...

Our house is finally being built!! After many long months of the city and our builder going back and forth over the plans, the city finally approved the plans. Anthony and I drive to the house every weekend and check out the progress. They are finished with the basement, and the walls on the main level have gone up (but I don't have pics of that yet). We are so excited, and are hoping to move in by the end of the year! Yay for being an almost-home owner!

It's the prettiest pile of dirt and unfinished walls I've ever seen.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was so much fun this year. We dressed Liam as a dinosaur slash dragon...there were different opinions of what he was supposed to be. Whatever he was, he was adorable in his costume.

We went trick or treating with Anthony's nephews. They all looked so cute and very super hero-esque!

Liam loves Butterfingers just like his mom haha

Later we went to my aunt's house for a little Halloween party. There was good food...and some food that was creepy looking.

Cupcakes with pieces of bloody glass (rock candies)

Fingers with bloody sauce (bread sticks and marinara)
And a human hand--this was the creepiest. (jello hand, but looked so real--no one could eat it!)

And I had to put this picture of my cousin because her eyes are so trippy and creepy!

I hope you all had a lovely Halloween!!

Liam the tap dancer

Who knew he could dance at such a young age?! :)

PS Notice how he clasps his little hands together! It is the cutest thing in the whole world. He has done this since he was a brand new baby, and it is so funny. He will clasp his hands all day long :)
