We have been busy

Anthony and I have been so focussed on our house lately. It continues to be a slow process. Snail's pace really. But we are trying to be patient. Prior to moving in, we are devoting every weekend to picking out all the finishings, from kitchen appliances, to carpet, to cupboards, to granite, to you name it, we are picking it out. I love that we get to design every detail of our house, but I didn't realize how many details there actually are to consider!

We went appliance shopping at RC Willey a few weekends ago. Liam liked the strollers there :)

And he liked the laundry bins.

The next weekend we went furniture shopping at Costco. I could spend hours and hours at Costco and never get bored.

We are putting granite in our kitchen. We picked out our granite from a slab yard in Salt Lake this weekend. That was an adventure! Sadly I don't have any picures from that outing. All the slabs are so beautiful and unique. It took several visits to different slab yards to find the one I (I mean we wanted. Anthony is a sport I tell ya!). Most of the slab yards are outside, and it was bitter cold this weekend, so we looked at all the granite at lightning speed. If you've never been to a slab yard, you should go. It's really cool.

We went to visit the house and check on the progress a few days ago. Unfortunately the roof was too close to a powerline, so the city placed a "stop work" order on the house until the power line could be retrenched. That took forever to get done. But it got done. And on Monday the house will get all the electrical work and plumbing started. We should be moved in next month. Should be. I hope so!!!

Standing in Liam's future bedroom :)

Floor mat fun

Don't you love when you get your child a new toy that you know they will just love? And you are sure that the toy will occupy them for days on end? Well, this toy ain't it! haha but Liam did love to play with them the night we got them.

This last picture is my favorite because he is so concentrated. Darling boy.

We promote good dental hygiene

Liam loves it when Anthony and I brush our teeth. He stares at us while we brush, and it so intrigued by what we are doing. So we bought him his own toothbrush and toothpaste. And let me tell you, he loves it! In one hand he holds his toothpaste. And in the other hand he holds onto his little toothbrush and "brushes" his teeth with us. Granted, he only has two teeth to brush, but those two teeth are very clean!

Take 1. Take 2. Take...10

It is really difficult to get a good picture of Liam where he is actually staring straight into the camera and smiling. He just moves so dang much that you've gotta be on your A game if you expect to time the picture right. Anthony and I went to grab a burger at Smashburger (love that place!) the other night, and we tried to snap a picture of Liam, because he was looking especially cute:) Here are the shots we got...

Started out holding him...
 But he was so squirmy...
So we put him on the seat...
 And got distracted...

 Wouldn't look at the camera...
 Looked everywhere BUT the camera...

Then got a little cross-eyed! haha
Trying to position him towards the camera. Unsuccessful.

Apparently wide-eyed about something interesting at the restaurant lol

We tried! Didn't exactly get the picture we were trying for, but we won't give up! Even so, he still looks cute in every single one!

When did my baby get so BIG?

Time is a funny thing. Sometimes it flies by, and other times it drags on. Well when it comes to my little man Liam, time seems to be going by so quickly. I was looking at pictures of him from the day he was born. He was so so tiny. And so precious.

There is nothing better than a sleeping baby on your chest.
Those are newborn size clothes. And he was swimming in them!

He looked so tiny in his carseat the day we took him home from the hospital.

And now his legs hang over the bottom!

And now as I look at pictures from the past several weeks (we still take an obsessive amount of pictures of Liam haha Tell me I'm not the only one who does this with their child(ren)?) I really can't believe how much he has grown. He is looking like a little boy, and no longer a baby. I wish time would slow down a little so I could enjoy each and every day with Liam even more than I do now. Oh I just love him so much.

Christmas in Sandpoint

We had such a wonderful Christmas holiday. We spent it in Idaho with my family. ALL my family. We haven't all been home together in 5 years! (between missions, holidays being split with in-laws, and siblings living out of state), so it was so great having everyone together. Anthony and I flew to Sandpoint this time. If you recall, the last time we drove to Sandpoint...it took us 14 hours---what, with the missed turn, ending up in Oregon, and an 8 week old baby requiring freqent stops. No thanks. We opted to fly this time. And I am so glad we did. Liam did great on the plane. He made friends with everyone around him. He is so outgoing and vocal, so everyone can't help but interact and get to know him. I love that about his little personality.
Christmas was also wonderful this year, because it was Liam's first Christmas. It was more special for Anthony and I than it was for Liam. He didn't know what was going on, but still had a fun time tearing off the wrapping paper :) Here are some fun pics from Christmas.

On our way to church. I love that Christmas was on a Sunday this year. It is special to worship and remember Jesus Christ on Christmas Sunday.

We came home from church and opened presents. I think Anthony was more exicted for Liam to open his presents than Liam was. I love his expression. He is such a great dad.

Cute uncles.

They are BOTH single. Why that is, I don't know!?

I love this picture. Liam was excited about this present. Thanks grandma Marcia.

This trip was the first time that my brother Chad was able to meet Liam. He is such a great uncle. He loved playing with Liam. They were buddies. He will be a great dad himself one day.

A highlight of this trip was a special present from my dad. Love that man. He gave Anthony and me a present and when I opened it there was an envelope inside that said "Don't open until December 27th at 3:00pm."

It was hard to wait, because I am not good with surprises. I love being surprised, but don't like waiting to be surprised haha Does that even make sense? Anywho, we waited till the 27th at 3:00 to open the envelope. Inside was a message that said, "I know you tried to peek, so ask me for the real envelope." My dad knows me well...I did try and peek! So he gave me the real envelope, which was the first of seven envelopes. In the first envelope were movie tickets. In the second were dinner reservations at a nice restaurant. In the third and fourth were gift cards for me to shop at downtown stores. In the fifth was a gift card for Anthony to shop at a downtown store. And in the sixth was a reservation for a one night stay at a Bed and Breakfast!! And then in the last envelope was extra spending money. Really? My dad is the most wonderful dad. EVER. Anthony and I were so excited. My first thought was "I will get a full night's sleep tonight!" (because we were staying overnight at the B&B that night). But then I started panicking because that meant that I would be spending my first night away from my baby! That was hard to do! But I am so glad we did, because it was great for Anthony and I to have time to ourselves. That rarely happens.

Here is the cute B&B.

The B&B was really cute and quaint. There were two other couples staying there. In the morning we had the most delish breakfast. The owners made grilled grapefruit with cinnamon (try it if you haven't! So good!), southern style quiche, orange coffee cake stuffed with cream cheese, vanilla yogurt with homemade granola, and fresh squeezed orange juice. The breakfast alone made the stay! But there were so many other reasons why the getaway was amazing.

The yummy steak dinner...

The cute room with cozy bed...complete with the most restful night's sleep I have had in a year! (We wake up with Liam multiple times a night still. Any suggestions on how to get your baby to sleep through the night?!)
The movie after we had dinnder...The shopping the next day...Pretty much a perfect getaway. Thanks dad! :)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our holiday vacation in Sandpoint.

Yes, those are pickles on our fingers! Remember the store we went to last summer? They had octopus tenticles last time! Now pickles. I wonder what they will have our next visit?

He is a little pool shark.

Loving his reflection. He can play in front of a mirror for days.
 Liam loves his uncle Chad.
Look at that snow in the background! It was a picture perfect white Christmas.
It was the best trip. I love my family so much. My brothers are wonderful. And my parents truly are the best. My mom is my best friend, and I am always grateful when we can spend time together.  We are always so sad to leave.  But we are already looking forward to the next time we can all be together---my dad is already planning a trip to AZ this spring to see some baseball spring training. Yeah!
